Lady Falcons finish second in pool play, face Miles on Saturday
The Veribest Lady Falcons travelled to Bangs on Thursday and played three closely contested matches. The girls fell to Cornerstone in two games 25-21, 25-23, and then recovered to beat Santa Anna in two straight games. Against Dublin, the girls managed to pick up a win in game two, and with this win, secure second place in the pool. Crystal Benge stepped in for the injured Alex Padilla, and earned the respect of her teammates with her solid play. Other standouts included Haley Humble, who led in kills, and aces, and Hannah Ferguson, who stepped in to help shore up the front row. The Lady Falcons now face Miles, the third place seed from the other pool. This game will be a preview of district play, with both teams hoping to gain the upper hand and momentum for future matches.
