Suffering a barrage of three point field goals by the opposing team, the Veribest Falcons were eliminated from the playoffs by the Lometa Hornets 80-52. The game got off to a great start for Veribest, with the Falcons scoring the first seven points of the contest. By halftime, however, the Hornets had gained the upper hand, hitting nine three pointers. Trailing 45-36 at the half, the Falcons cut the lead to five points in the middle of the third quarter on a Jarret Jones lay-up. The Hornets responded with three consecutive three pointers to regain control of the game.
Brandon Beavers was the most consistent Falcon of the night, ending the game with 15 points and 12 rebounds.
The Falcons end the year with a 21-9 overall record, their second consecutive 20 win season. Coach Nason would like to express his thanks to the players for their tremendous effort all season long, and the fans for their incredible support during district play and at the playoff game.
