All-District Basketball Players Named; Black Defensive MVP

Coming off a good year, the Lady Falcons placed two players on the All-District team for the 2009 basketball season. Senior Emily Lankford was tabbed by district coaches as a first team selection, along with junior Haley Humble. Lankford and Humble provided the Lady Falcons with a strong inside game throughout the year. Both girls averaged double digits in scoring during district play, while Humble led the team for the year in rebounding.

The Falcons' selections were led by sophomore Cheyenne Black, who was selected as the district defensive MVP. Black led the Falcons in rebounds at 14.7 per game, while also averaging three steals per contest. Senior Camron Flavel was a unanimous first team selection, while junior Jarett Jones joined Flavel on the first team. Brandon Beavers rounded out the selections, being placed on the second team.

Congratulations to all of these athletes for their inclusion on the first and second teams!
