On Tuesday night, the Lady Falcons re-entered the playoff picture wit a convincing 49-35 win over Paint Rock. The win propels Veribest to 3-3 on the year, just one game off of the playoff pace. Haley Humble racked up 21 points, while Katie Lankford added 13 points to the Lady Falcon attack. Veribest dominated the game from its early moments, opening up a 15-6 first quarter lead. Paint Rock, however, closed the gap to just three points entering the fourth quarter. The Lady Falcons responded to the challenge, outscoring the Maidens 17-6 in the final stanza to win 49-35.
The Varsity Falcons were challenged as always by Paint Rock, but pulled away late to secure a seventeen point win. While the starters were all steady, bench play saved the day for Veribest. Laureano Sanchez and Clint Holik were key contributors to the win. The steadiest play was provided by point guard Camron Flavel, who handled the Paint Rock pressure with ease.
The Falcons stand at 15-5 overall, 3-1 in district play. They will travel to Lohn Tuesday night in a key district battle.
