The Veribest Lady Falcons came off a disappointing loss against Ropes and showed their spirit when they beat the Miles Lady Bulldogs 41-32. Junior Haley Humble poured in 21 points to lead the Lady Falcon attack, while Katie Lankford pulled down 10 rebounds and scored 12 points. The win saw balanced team play and good team defense. The win evened the Veribest record at 5-5 as they enter district play. They open the district with Lohn on Tuesday night at home.
In Saturday's action, the boys split their two games, beating Robert Lee 54-52, and falling to Highland 43-40. Against Robert Lee, Cheyenne Black scored a season-high 24 points and finished with 12 rebounds. In the second contest, Brandon Beavers scored 14 points in the loss.
Consistent play was once again turned in by Camron Flavel, and Chris Buck came in to give the Falcons a boost off the bench. The Falcons will resume play in the Water Valley Tournament on Thursday!
